This results in lower differential pressure and lower velocity through the filter media, providing less opportunity for organisms and sediment to be forced through media, and longer intervals between backwashing.

Depth filtration provides a higher efficiency of removal of organisms and sediment, as well as a larger holding capacity. This results in consistently high quality effluent and longer intervals between backwashing.

An energetic backwashing process with pressurised water sprayed from nozzles inside the disk stacks ensures that the filter disks are cleaned completely in only a few seconds per module and the materials is quickly flushed overboard.

A backwash booster pump is energised only during backwashing to ensure a differential pressure of 4 to 5 bar for effective cleaning. Higher differential pressure during backwashing allows complete remove of sticky, compressible algae from the filter media, reducing the risk of plugging and manual cleaning.

Stacked disk filter systems have a simple and robust design with all polymeric internal materials and almost no moving parts. This ensures high reliability, minimal corrosion, extremely long service life and almost no expected consumables.
