First Russian LNG bunker vessels planned

The three tankers will have a capacity of 7,300m3 each under a contract valued at a total RUB5.67 billion (US$104.87 million). The contract, with a 22-month term, includes an option for a further six bunker vessels.

According to the report the vessels will include a number of innovative solutions, including membrane technology from GTT. But the French company told

that discussions are at a very early stage and no contract has been signed.

The new floating LNG plant outside of St Petersburg will have capacity to produce 1.26 million tonnes of LNG a year. LNG-Gorskaya will create an LNG company with its own fleet to deliver LNG to European consumers and to bunker vessels in the water area of the Gulf of Finland.

According to IAA PortNews, the project also includes the construction of a pier, loading rack and gas pipeline as well as the creation of several LNG terminals outside Russia, in Finland, Germany and Sweden.
