Repeat LNGC order for GTT

The new vessel will be built by the Korean shipbuilder Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) and is expected to be delivered in 2018.

This LNGC will be equipped with NO96-GW technology, which allows an optimised boil-off rate for the LNG cargo. The new order follows on from a previous order made by the operator for a similar vessel back in February 2015.

GTT has been working on a collaborative project with DNV GL, Hyundai Heavy Industries, and GasLog which concluded with an LNG carrier concept offering claimed energy efficiencies of around 8%, with a 5% increase in cargo capacity.

The LNGreen initiative aimed to improve efficiency and performance by considering actual operational conditions and optimisation of hydrodynamics, machinery and system configurations.
