Lloyds Register approvers Parker Kittiwake emissions analyser
The certification provides assurance to shipowners and operators that all available measures have been taken to verify that the analyser provides accurate data and complies with ECA regulations.

He added: “With many in the industry raising concerns over the ability of bunker delivery notes to accurately verify compliance with sulphur limits, there is growing recognition that continuous monitoring technologies that measure emissions directly are the most practical and effective means of demonstrating compliance.”
The Procal 2000 is an in-situ analyser that analyses exhaust gases from engines and boilers of ships and offshore rigs. It can monitor up to six gasses simultaneously and water vapour content of exhaust gas.
This enables the operator to determine the pollutant levels on a wet and dry basis, giving the shipowner a robust reporting tool to demonstrate compliance with ECA regulations.
The data collected is fed through the Parker P1200M data gathering system which can take information from up to 16 channels to generate reliable reports.
Combined with the information obtained from Automatic Identification Systems (AIS) the Port State Control can use the information from the Procal 2000 to confirm compliance in port, in ECAs and in international waters.
