Lagersmit launches oil collector ring

The OCR is applicable to all supreme seals both new and delivered models, it intends to stop oil droplets or mist from the stern tube and the forward seal leaking.

Dustin van Horik, commerce manager at Lagersmit, said: “This is what we call peace of mind. The OCR ensures that possible use of oil in the forward seal is captured.”

Emission of oil may be caused by wear at the stern tube seal which is located in the engine room. The OCR captures this kind of oil emission which aims to entail many benefits.

The benefits include; a clean engine room, prevents a slippery floor and the risks of accidents, reduces fire risks and provides fewer issues with Port State Control which no longer accepts this type of pollution.

Alongside this, Lagersmit has revealed another product to its line which claims to make zero-emissions of oil possible.
