Inline lamp drivers slash Trojan BWMS footprint
The new configuration, available across the Trojan Marinex BWT range from 150-1,500m3/h, reduces the amount of cabling and electrical panels required for an installation. The new set up received IMO type approval from DNV GL on 8 July and the company noted that ‘recent orders indicate that the system’s inline driver configuration has immediately resonated with shipowners and market needs’.
Mark Kustermans, market manager, Trojan Marinex, said: “We immediately recognised the synergistic advantages of connecting our UV lamp and drivers together. It’s an industry first which allows our system to provide consistently lower power draw in an even smaller footprint.”
The company noted that system footprint and power draw were the two critical parameters for the BWMS retrofit market. The Trojan Marinex BWT employs TrojanUV Solo Lamp Technology to reduce power draw, making the power requirements associated with UV treatment less of an obstacle for vessels with a larger flowrate. Trojan’s 1,000m3/h system, for example, has a maximum installed power requirement of 44kW.
A 150 m3/h and 250 m3/h unit will be on display at the Trojan Marinex (A1.237) and GEA (A3.214) stands at SMM Hamburg on 6-9 September.
