Gloryholder systems for LNG car carriers
The post-Panamax ships are under construction for Siem Car Carriers at Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co. and will each be equipped with a MAN Diesel & Turbo high-pressure, low-speed dual-fuel main engine as well as dual-fuel generators and boilers. China-based Gloryholder will supply its self-balanced reliquification system as well as providing design and supply of the whole LNG fuel gas supply system.
“We are very proud to have been awarded this prestigious contract which once again shows our strong market recognition for LNG fuel gas supply systems” said Liu Guoman, CEO, Gloryholder LGM.
Gloryholder’s scope of supply for the ABS-classed vessels includes two sets of LNG bunkering stations, two sets of 1,800m3 Type C fuel tanks in cargo hold, one set of high pressure/low pressure gas supply units, boil-off gas handling system, water/glycol system, gas detection system and LNG fuel security and control system.
A risk assessment workshop for the new ships – which will be used for global automobile transportation for the Volkswagen Group – was carried out in September between Siem Car Carriers, Xiamen Shipbuilding, ABS, SDARI and Gloryholder.
