A new global force in marine power

The new company brings together complementary strengths in vessel propulsion, electrification, repair and maintenance, offering shipowners and industrial operators a one stop shop for critical systems support throughout the entire ship lifecycle.

Combined force

With its combined size, Hoyer VMS Group becomes one of the most comprehensive Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) companies globally, with operations spanning Europe, Asia, North and South America, Africa and the Middle East.

The new company will combine a stronger combined leadership team, with Henrik Sørensen as CEO and Kim Bengtsen as Deputy CEO,

It will combine the expertise of Hoyer’s world-class motors, drives and automation expertise with VMS Group’s comprehensive engine, service and lifecycle capabilities to support shipowners and industrial operators worldwide.

The company plans to accelerate global programmes for energy-saving retrofits, advanced optimisation tools and condition-based monitoring – critical tools for reducing fuel consumption and meeting tightening IMO regulations such as CII and EEXI.

It’s a merger which also marks a shift in ownership, with Capidea assuming majority control of the company.

Capidea founder Morten Vestergaard said the partnership “secures VMS’s future” while strengthening its customer-first focus.
