Advanced navigation for specialist offshore ship
The Troms Vision was delivered to Troms Offshore of Norway in March 2010 from the Kleven yard in Ålesund. The ship is equipped with the latest Transas integrated bridge solution, known as the TIBS 4000 Multifunction Display. The bridge system is designed according to DNV Naut-OSV class and consists of five multifunction workstations and extended conning displays:
• two Navi-Radar 4000 MFD chart radar (X and S vand)
• one Navi-Radar 4000 MFD chart radar slave with extended Navi-Conning 4000
• one Navi-Sailor 4000 ECDIS MFD
• one Navi-Sailor 4000 ECDIS MFD with extended Navi-Conning 4000
All stations are configured in a dual fully redundant network.
In addition, the vessel is supplied with the Transas Admiralty Data Service (TADS), which the company says enables completely paperless operation.
The Transas bridge solution is claimed to represent the pinnacle of navigation expertise and technology, combining industry leading equipment and dynamics in one system, with a user-friendly interface and high redundancy, to ensure greater efficiency and an increased level of safety at sea.
