Brunvoll receives DP2 control system retrofit order

The order has been placed on behalf of Simon Møkster Shipping AS, which is going to replace the existing dynamic positioning system onboard their offshore supply vessel, Stril Mar.

The scope of the order includes includes the supply of a dynamic positioning system of DP-class 2 with 4 manoeuvring positions, reusing existing sensors and position references.

The order forms part of a wider overhaul of Stril Mar, which includes the installation of an energy storage system and a new energy management system, alongside the replacement of the existing DP control system with a new system from Brunvoll.

The vessel is now under a long-term contract with Equinor, and the upgrades are part of this cooperation. Brunvoll noted that the contract had been awarded in the face of strong competition from other suppliers.
