Celsius turns to China for 4+4 LNGC order
The contract is the first for CMHI Jiangsu in the LNG carrier segment. Celsius Tankers’ existing LNG carriers have been ordered from Samsung Heavy Industries in Korea.
The first of the 180,000cbm vessels are due for delivery from early 2026, with the others to follow. The contract is equivalent to a vessel price of around $235 million.
The gas carriers will feature high-pressure dual-fuel ME-GI main engines, and the vessels will have shaft generators and be equipped with air lubrication. The vessels will be fitted with GTT’s Mark III Flex cargo containment system.
