Evoqua says that DNV GL type approval provides an exacting standard that will provide assurance to ship operators choosing te SeaCure BWMS.

The company described the certification as “an exacting standard that takes into account a system’s design, construction, operation and functionality”. The electrochlorination and filtration based unit received IMO type approval from the German flag authority in 2014.

Matt Granitto, business manager for ballast water treatment, said: “We are very proud that our BWMS has received DNV GL type approval. This certificate is a benchmark standard for marine equipment that will provide assurance to our customers as to the quality and safety of SeaCURE.”

The SeaCure system uses a Chloropac electrolyser to produce hypochlorite that, combined with a filtration process, treats ballast water to the required standard.
