First orders for new high-pressure BOG compressor supplier
The WT-3 BOG compressor has been developed as a dedicated product for high-pressure LNG dual fuel engines, which boosts the pressure of surplus BOG naturally generated from LNG fuel tanks of LNG-fuelled vessels and supplies it to the engines as fuel.
Mitsui E&S has received the first orders for its new WT-3 high-pressure compressors. The company will supply two units for installation as one of LNG fuel supply systems of dual fuel engines to be equipped on a 210,000 dwt LNG-fuelled bulk carrier to be built by Imabari Shipbuilding for NYK Line.
Mitsui E&S notes that the company (including subsidiaries) leveraged its extensive experience manufacturing reciprocating compressors for various industries, including petroleum refining and petrochemicals, to develop high-pressure BOG compressors for marine applications.
The product extends Mitsui E&S’s portfolio of products for dual-fuel vessels, complementing its experience as the leading supplier of high-pressure two stroke LNG dual fuel engines in Japan, and as a supplier of LNG fuel supply systems. The company has also added high-pressure pumps, MHP-3 to its own product portfolio.
