This bespoke system will be powered by Kongsberg Digital’s Vessel Insight cloud infrastructure already in use across GasLog’s vessels since 2022.

“Our new digital engine management platform paths the way for the realisation of our long-term strategy of engine lifecycle maintenance optimisation,” said Lampros Nikolopoulos, Asset Integrity Manager, GasLog.

“With such tools developed from Propulsion Analytics and enabled through Kongsberg Digital, we can target from one hand increased plant reliability and from the other the optimisation of the total cost of ownership of our assets.”

The Engine Hyper Cube platform continuously analyses engine performance using high-frequency data from onboard sensors. The integration with Vessel Insight will enable the collection and synthesis of performance data, supporting more effective engine condition assessments and data-driven maintenance decisions.

The primary goals of the platform include enhancing engine availability by developing advanced diagnostics and predictive maintenance strategies to minimise downtime.

Additionally, the system aims to optimise fuel efficiency and reduce environmental impact by improving engine performance and lowering greenhouse gas emissions.

Finally, the platform’s predictive maintenance capabilities will enable flexible overhauling planning, aligned with LNG carrier trading profiles and dry dock schedules to improve vessel reliability and performance.

“Our engine diagnostic expertise, combined with the extensive operational experience from GasLog and the continuous data from the KDI Vessel Insight platform, is a key enabler towards sustainable and efficient maritime operations,” said Panos Kyrtatos, chief executive of Propulsion Analytics.
