Goltens joins Orcan Energy in waste heat to clean electricity push

The agreement positions Goltens to deliver international engineering, project management, installation, and commissioning support for Orcan’s modular ORC technology, which captures low-temperature waste heat from vessel engines and converts it into clean electrical power. The collaboration is expected to help shipowners and operators achieve compliance with EEXI, CII, and FuelEU Maritime regulations through enhanced fuel efficiency and reduced CO₂ emissions.

As part of the collaboration, Goltens will offer engineering assessments, feasibility studies, installation design, and comprehensive turnkey retrofit solutions via its global network of engineering and service centres. The move reinforces Goltens’ strategic focus on decarbonisation technologies and strengthens its role as a trusted retrofit partner for maritime energy efficiency solutions.

Orcan Energy’s Marine ORC systems have already been successfully installed on a variety of vessel types, consistently demonstrating reliable performance and measurable emissions reductions. Fully fuel-agnostic, the systems are suitable for both newbuilds and retrofit projects. With Goltens joining long-standing Orcan partner Alfa Laval, the cleantech innovator now collaborates with two prominent players in the global maritime industry.
