GTT technology will equip new LNG carrier
The vessel, a 180,000 cubic metre LNG carrier with XDF propulsion, will be built at SHI’s shipyard in Goeje Island for the European ship owner GasLog. Delivery is scheduled for 2019.

GTT’s Mark V membrane system is a cryogenic liner directly supported by the ship’s inner hull and consists of metallic membranes combined with insulation prefabricated panels. It also includes a 36% nickel-iron alloy corrugated secondary membrane.
The system, entirely designed by GTT, reduces significantly the guaranteed daily boil-off rate of LNG to 0.07% of the tank volume per day, thus generating important savings for the charterer. The system also optimises the dynamic insulation resistance.
This technology is derived from the GTT Mark range and can be adapted to all sizes of LNG carriers.
