Headway Technologys FGSS awarded AiP by DNV GL
The OceanGuard FGSS was developed by Headway Technology Co., Ltd. in collaboration with the China University of Petroleum, the company noted.
The award covers the BOG compressor systems, along with high-pressure gas supply for the engine, and low-pressure supply to the auxiliary engines.
The solution’s design includes window valve designs to ensure safety, along with gas recovery features, the company noted, along with innovations in automation and safety control.
The AiP award follows less than a month after Headway Technology announced the award of a Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement with Zhejiang-based LNG transportation specialist Rui Neng Ocean Shipping Co., Ltd. in early September.
The cooperation agreement coincided with the signature of a contract for five FGSS systems with Rui Neng Shipping Co., Ltd, with the option of a further five systems.
In addition to cooperation in the area of FGSS development, the agreement covered cooperation in Headway Technology’s existing OceanGuard ballast water management system.
The cooperation agreement also two of Headway Technology’s stated strategic objectives: communication and navigation systems, as well as “Intelligent Ship Management Systems”.
