High-End Cruiser From Genoese Yard
The 50-suite vessel’s exterior profile and guest accommodation spaces have been developed by the Dutch consultancy SINOT Yacht Architecture & Design. A dual-fuel propulsion system has been specified, capable of meeting environmental standards well into the future, beyond the ship’s planned delivery in 2026.
Mariotti, which has a long track record in small and medium-sized cruiseship building and conversion, will draw on its established business relationships within Italy’s extensive industrial chain so as to fulfil Project Sama. Among the various subcontractors, the De Wave Group of Genoa will be entirely responsible for the ship’s interior and exterior outfitting, while Ortec Santamaria will install the electrical systems.
With its corporate office in Baar, Switzerland, the Aman Group has 34 hotels, resorts and residential developments in 20 countries, and the majority are located within or close to UNESCO-protected sites. Although the company deploys a custom-built, two-masted sailing and diving vessel, the Project Sama scheme denotes a diversification of the group’s offering into the top end of the luxury cruise market.
Cruise Saudi’s involvement reflects the Kingdom’s bid to expand the Saudi Arabian cruise and tourist sectors.
Indicative of its production orientation, T.Mariotti’s 2022 completions included the 170m Seabourn Venture, the first of two expedition-type, polar-class cruise vessels. Mariotti is part of Genova Industrie Navali (GIN) Holding, now one of the largest private players in the Mediterranean shipbuilding and shiprepair sectors, comprising a number of yards, outfitting specialists and system suppliers.
