Hydroniq Coolers teams up with SonFlow
Hydroniq Coolers will integrate SonFlow’s plate heat exchangers and pumps within its portfolio for shipowners, shipyards and designers in the maritime and shipping industries. In these packages, the heat exchangers and the pump can be paired in respect of pressure drop and flow rate to produce the most efficient solution.
“This partnership gives shipowners access to an even more complete portfolio of marine cooling solutions,” said Inge Bøen, chief executive of Hydroniq Coolers. “It allows yards and shipowners to increasingly choose and tailor packages and solutions that are optimal for the criteria and requirements of their specific vessels,” he added.
Headquartered in Aalesund in Norway, Hydroniq Coolers produces seawater cooling solutions sauch as the hull-integrated Rack seawater cooler and the Pleat cooler, where one cooling element equals approximately 15 plates in a traditional plate heat exchanger.
Over the past 10 years, SonFlow, which is owned by former Sondex-founder and owner Aage Soendergaard Nilsen, has developed the DanPump, an energy efficient pump for use in all types of industries. The company has recently expanded its portfolio with heat exchangers which testing has shown to have a thermal efficiency up to 15% higher than other similar plate heat exchangers.
