Japanese built ships get roller screens

Kawasaki Shipbuilding Corporation completed the LPG carrier Hisui for Asuka Marine Corporation of Japan. It is Kawasaki’s 45^th LPG carrier and the 6^th of the same class. Seven Solasafe roller screens in bronze film were supplied.

Another vessel, the 154,914m³ LNG carrier Gdf Suez Point Fortin, was delivered from the Koyo Dockyard of Imabari Shipbuilding to owner Los Halillos Shipping. This ship has been supplied with 11 Solasafe roller screens in bronze shade film to protect personnel in the wheelhouse against heat, glare and uv light from the sun.

John Lightfoot, Solar Solve Marine’s chairman commented, “Whilst Japan is a significant builder of ships; it continues to be a very difficult market for British marine equipment manufacturers to sell into. We are therefore especially proud of these orders and the others that we regularly receive from our various customers in the country.”
