Lloyd’s approval for Thermaflue flange shields
The covers are designed to provide insulation for pipes while protecting personnel from potentially dangerous high-pressure leaks of oil, steam or acid. Thermaflue noted that the systems, which typically work from 40 to 344 bar of hydraulic pressure, were tested by Lloyd’s Register to more than 500 bar and a velocity of 200m/s.
The covers can be manufactured from a wide range of fabrics, including silicone rubber and PTFE coated glass cloths, and utilize a variety of insulation materials to suit the application.
Themaflue offers a choice of closure options including hook and loop, drawstrings and cinch straps. The covers are designed for easy removal and refit to enable maintenance of the protected equipment.
The shields are manufactured at Thermaflue’s Doncaster facility, which can supply a range of standard covers or custom-made covers after a site survey or to client’s own drawings. All covers can be fitted with leak indicators.
