ME-GI ENGINES FOR SEASPAN ULCS SERIES
The confirmation of the order follows the conclusion of a 12-year long-term charter agreement between Seaspan Corporation and international shipping group ZIM Lines in February 2021. The 10 LNG-fuelled 15,000 TEU containerships are scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2023, whereupon they are expected to enter service on the Asia-US East Coast trade.

The ME-GI engines will come with a newly introduced PVU (Pump Vaporizer Unit), which ensures an optimal integration between the engine and LNG-supply system.
The new order follows a number of orders announced in recent months. MAN Energy Solutions stated in January 2021 that its low-speed, dual-fuel references in their entirety then exceeded 360 units, with the ME-GI recording over 1.5 million operating hours on LNG alone.
