MET-MB turbocharger range extended

Importer
The new MET-37MB turbocharger will gain its first reference on an engine on order from Japan Engine Corporation

The flow capacity of the new MET37MB sits between the existing MET33MB (around 8.8kg/s) and MET42MB (13.5kg/s), enabling owners of applicable engines to optimise turbocharger selection for performance, cost and layout. The first unit has been ordered by China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation Diesel Engine Co for delivery on November 2017. It will be mounted on a J-Eng 6UEC33LSE-C2.

The new size is applicable to all three two-stroke engine brands: Japan Engine Corporation, MAN Diesel & Turbo SE (MDT) and Winterthur Gas & Diesel.

The MET-MB series of axial turbochargers was developed in 2008 and now includes 10 frame sizes. MHI-MME claims that MET turbochargers are the leaders in the global two-stroke marine engine market.
