More approvals for Hyde
Hyde Marine claims to be a market leader in the growing ballast water treatment (BWT) sector, having sold more than 70 systems to date. The Hyde Guardian unit received International IMO type approval in 2009 and the company says it was the first BWT system accepted into the US Coast Guard’s STEP (shipboard technology evaluation programme). According to Hyde, the Guardian system is chemical free, and uses filtration and ultraviolet disinfection to treat ships’ ballast water to prevent the spread of invasive species from port to port.
As part of Calgon’s UVT division, Hyde Marine recently added ISO 9001:2008 certification to its list of approvals. The division received its accreditation from DNV and the ANAB National Accreditation Board.
