New methanol hybrid CSV partnership

Owned by new entity Eidesvik Agalas, in which Eidesvik retains a majority of 50.1%, the CSV will be used to perform subsea and offshore wind operations.

Eidesvik was an early adopter of LNG and battery technology in offshore vessels and says it is ‘pushing boundaries’ with this latest vessel.

Built at the Sefine Shipyard in Turkey for delivery in early 2026, the CSV features a battery hybrid system alongside dual fuel gensets capable of operating on either methanol or MGO.

The 99.9m newbuild can accommodate up to 100 crew and will be equipped to perform inspection, maintenance and repair work with a 150 tonne heave-compensated crane and 900 sqm deck area.

On entry into service it will be chartered for three to five years with Reach Subsea and managed and crewed by Eidesvik.
