Oil mist detection added to marine range
The marine product likely to be of greatest interest to our readership is an oil mist detector.
The technology used in oil mist instrument is based on the physical principle of optical scattering. Two photodiodes measure the level of infrared light emitted from an LED. By comparison of the output measured from the two photodiodes, the company says the presence of oil mist can be detected.
The system is specifically developed for marine applications, for installation in machinery rooms and pump rooms in commercial, naval, and ro-ro ships to meet IMO regulations.
Other Valcom maritime applications include cargo tank ullage detection, ballast level measurement, high and overfill level alarms, draught trim and list, cargo tank inert-gas pressure, vapour line pressure, cargo line manifold, service tank level and cargo tank temperature.
