Parker Bestobell valves for Hoegh FSRUs

The valves are a combination of manual, pneumatic, actuated and check valves in sizes DN15 to DN100 and have been approved by DNV.

Duncan Gaskin, sales director at Parker Bestobell Marine, said: “ Supplying cryogenic valves for FRSUs is a growing part of our business, as international markets recognise the greater speed of construction of an FSRU and cost savings from storing and distributing LNG in this way.”

“We have full type approval from the four main class societies, so safety and durability of our valves is assured,” he added.

Bestobell valves are used on LNG carriers, FRSUs and LNG fuel gas systems and the company previously equipped the Excelerate FSRU, which supplied gas during the Brazil World Cup in 2014. The company has also manufactured the valves for use on the Q-Max size FRSU being built for Mitsui OSK Lines.
