SCF Novoship selects Ecochlor BWMS

The system uses a two-step process to treat ballast water and aims to provide shipowners with a cost effective and environmentally friendly solution.

Tom Perlich, president and founder of Ecochlor, said: “SCF Novoship Technical Management required a BWTS that is highly effectively in extreme climate conditions.”

He added: “It has low power consumption and is nearing completion of the U.S. Type Approval process. The Ecochlor BWTS met all of these requirements.”

SCF Novoship has committed to the principles of sustainable development, aiming to give priority to the safety of navigation, environmental protection and maintaining high quality service.

The Ecochlor BWTS is of small size, low power, and low maintenance characteristics, which aim to be make it suited installation on the world’s largest ships.

All of the retrofits aim to be carried out in 2016.
