Specialised winches offered for offshore use
The company offers a variety of low- and high-pressure hydraulic drive or electrical drive winches. It claims to be one of only two suppliers of low pressure hydraulic driven winches. Hatlapa points out that the low-pressure drive is the preference of many AHTS operators due to its reliability. As an alternative Hatlapa also offers electrically driven winches, which it says offer an efficiency rate 18%-20% higher than hydraulic winches. The company claims that electrically driven winches offer faster response to monitoring, better control systems and they are also better suited for stepless drive tension and load control systems.
Hatlapa says that it has delivered several orders for specialist offshore winches, an example being the wind farm construction vessel WindLift I. In addition to winches, Hatlapa provides specialised deck machinery, which it says has been proven in difficult working conditions.
Among the specialist features offered are: split type rope drums; inner-friction clutches for rope drums instead of claw clutches; remotely hydraulically operated drum brakes; upgraded hydraulic power packs for high redundancy; load control system incorporating full remote control; sensors within strong points placed locally at the winches; and bridge remote operation with joystick and touch screen.
