Trelleborg unveils new marine shock mounts
Metacone Shock Mounts aim to protect lightweight, critical loads in marine applications. Featuring high levels of deflection Metacone’s are suitable for propulsion engines, alternator sets, machinery rafts, pumps and compressors.
“We have developed this product range in line with customer demands for higher levels of equipment protection,” said Matt Easthope, product engineering director at Trelleborg’s industrial anti-vibrations solutions operation.
He explained: “To achieve this, the design features a non-linear displacement capability of up to 110m vertically, and 50mm horizontally.”
The shock mounts provide large displacement capability with vibration isolation that safeguards equipment and aims to improve the working environment for operators.
Trelleborg’s new range is said to be simpler to install due to its round modular design, this can enable fine-tuning of the mount’s stiffness without seating modifications.
“Metacone Shock Mounts have been specifically engineered for marine equipment and are able to support a load of up to 700 kilograms per mount,” continued Mr Easthope.
“Like all our solutions, the range features rubber compounds that are customer-formulated in our own laboratory. Finally, the mounts are 100% tested before they reach the customer to provide a guarantee of quality and performance,” he concluded.
