TTS launches movable deck lifter
The IMDL features four contact points, one each on an adjustable arm, as opposed to the single contact point for conventional deck lifters. This means the margin allowing for bending of the deck can be reduced, enabling designers to either increase cargo volume or reduce the total height of the ship.
Tobias Ahlberg, sales manager, TTS Marine, said: “Using a typical PCTC vessel as an example the possible height reduction can be approximately 100mm for each liftable car deck level.”
The system is operated via a remote control, with a touch panel on the vehicle showing detailed settings and alarm management. The lifting arms can be move into pre-saved positions or adjusted manually.
