Upgraded pump for marine scrubbers

The upgraded vertical inline centrifugal pump was designed at KSB’s Spanish KSB ITUR Spain SA subsidiary. The pump development includes newly designed hydraulics, which ensure the pumps meet operational and efficiency requirements.

The process design (up to size 250) enables the impeller to be removed without dismantling the pipelines and the motor, which is of great importance given the limited space on ships. A self-venting, wide mechanical seal chamber ensures a long-lasting seal at the shaft passage. Interchangeable split rings in the pump housing and in the housing cover simplify any maintenance that may be required.

The waterproof rolling bearings require neither relubrication nor maintenance. Aluminium bronze and super duplex steels are used as materials for the housing. The maximum flow rate of the units (60 Hz) is 3,700 m³ / h. The maximum head is 160m.
