UPS modules keep systems running

The Finland-based company says it has designed, produced, tested and serviced advanced UPS systems for cruise liners, ferries, ice breakers, LNG carriers, cable ships, dredgers and oil rigs during its 50 years of marine and offshore experience. Its marine UPS range covers ratings from 1kVA to 1,000kVA. The 1-15kVA range is approved by DNV and ABS.

Most of the marine UPS units employ double-conversion topology, isolating the load from anything that may affect the mains power. Systems can be supplied to protect bridge equipment, safety related systems, communications, alarm systems, and commercial applications in cruise ships and ferries. They can also protect control systems onboard specialist offshore construction vessels.

Systems can be customised to meet specific needs, including alterations to meet particular demands such as voltage and frequency conversion including low voltage shore power solutions up to 4MVA.
