W Marine selects Ecochlor for bulk carriers

The contract includes an option for six additional systems to be retrofit onto its existing fleet. Ecochlor uses a two-step process to treat ballast water – filtration followed by disinfection with chlorine dioxide. The company says its system’s effectiveness is not impaired by variations in salinity, temperature, turbidity, organics, and vibration, which can impact other treatment options.
