Zvezda delivers first of LNG-fuelled Aframax duo

The 112,650dwt Okeansky Prospekt was built with financing from Russian financial institution Vneshekonombank (VEB) and will operate under a 20-year time charter with Rosneft. 

The ship is 1A ice class rated to allow liftings of crude oil from Arctic, sub-Arctic and eastern Baltic terminals. The 250-metre Okeansky Prospekt is powered by dual-fuel main and auxiliary machinery. 

As reported by The Motorship, the technical specification of the vessel was set by Sovcomflot with involvement from Hyundai Heavy Industries, whose subsidiary Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries has delivered a number of similar dual-fuel crude carriers to Sovcomflot, forming the Gagarin Prospect class.
