TeamTec distribution for Kurita BWMS

Under the terms of the agreement, TeamTec will provide worldwide sales and marketing of Kurita BWMS, as well as handling project execution, delivery and Lifecycle Service.

“The interest for our TeamTec Oceansaver BWTS is all-time high,” said Edvin Tunheim Tønnessen, head of sales and projects BWTS at TeamTec.

“However, from customers with older vessels we have seen an increasing demand for ballast water management systems that do not use filters and generally are easier to install. Kurita BWMS will enable us to offer a system with very low system installation cost, as well as giving us a good alternative for vessels with low ballast water flow rates.”

Filter-free

Kurita BWMS is a filter-free treatment system which disinfects the ballast water by dosing sodium hypochlorite. The system is IMO G8/G9 approved and currently in the process of obtaining both revised G8 approval and USCG approval.

Kurita Group has traditionally focused on the supply of boiler chemicals, cooling system chemicals, seawater desalination equipment and beverage equipment.

The company now intends to expand its business in the marine field by introducing Kurita Ballast Water Management System under tight collaboration with TeamTec.

TeamTec AS specialises in manufacturing and sales of marine waste incinerators and ejectors to the maritime industry, in addition to supplying TeamTec Oceansaver BWTS.
