Envirocleanse receives final USCG approval
The inTank system is the only Type Approved BWTS which treats water during the voyage, leaving port activities unchanged. The inTank BWTS uses a unique dispersion system patented by the US Geological Survey and developed by marine engineering firm Glosten to mix the active substance, sodium hypochlorite (NaOCL), in the ballast tanks.
This method means that the full treatment cycle is completed during a ship’s voyage and ballast flow is not required whilst in port. The solution does not require a filtering mechanism, offering an effective solution for time-critical high ballast dependent ships. In addition to removing the filters, the inTank product does not consume power in port, while ballast water quality is unaffected by salinity, UVT, turbidity or temperature.
