Hurtigruten owners take major Kleven shareholding

The Ulsteinvik-based yard group is currently charged with building Hurtigruten’s groundbreaking, hybrid-powered expedition cruise vessels Roald Amundsen and Fridtjof Nansen.

“This shows that the shipbuilding group is world class,” said Daniel Skjeldam, CEO of Hurtigruten. “Now we are strengthening Kleven, the region and Norwegian shipbuilding industry for the future.”

The group of investors consists of InYard Invest, Lürssen Group, and Per Lillebø. Lürssen – a leading superyacht builder and the new owner of Hamburg shipyard Blohm+Voss – recently entered into a long-term cooperation agreement with Kleven.

Current owners John Kleven and H-Invest are also bringing new funds to the company.

“It has been important for us to bring in new investors with an industrial, long-term perspective, and with a shared ambition to further develop Kleven to be a world leading shipbuilding group,” said Kjersti Kleven, chair of the board, Kleven.
