De Nora adds UV BWMS systems to portfolio after Hyde Marine acquisition

De Nora will offer both UV and EC BWMS over a full range of flows once Hyde Marine's Hyde GUARDIAN UV solution enters its portfolio

The deal was signed on 7 June and is expected to close on 1 July 2021. De Nora emphasised that Calgon’s UV Technologies Division will maintain normal service levels towards customers and suppliers during the interim period.

By combining De Nora BALPURE electrolytic disinfection (EC) BWMS and the Hyde Marine ultra-violet (UV) Hyde GUARDIAN BWMS within the De Nora Marine Technologies division, De Nora will become one of the few global enterprises offering both UV and EC BWMS over a full range of flows.

Both the BALPURE and Hyde GUARDIAN systems have been approved to meet the IMO and USCG requirements. The two systems are complementary: Hyde’s UV systems have proven to be better suited to vessels with lower ballast flow rates, while De Nora’s BALPURE systems have generally been installed on vessels with high ballast flow rates, such as LNG carriers, tankers and bulk vessels.
