Optimarin unveils Guardian BWTS

Designed for both performance and efficiency, the new system addresses key concerns facing shipowners, including rising energy costs, tightening compliance demands and global supply chain disruptions.

Optimised for large vessels, Guardian is also available in a compact 60 m³/h version, making it suitable for fishing vessels, offshore units and yachts. Optimarin reports that early pilot installations have shown measurable improvements in energy use and uptime.

In response to ongoing supply chain volatility, the company has introduced a flexible, regionally distributed sourcing model. “We’ve spent the last few years quietly building redundancy into our supply chain,” said Olafsen. “Now that global logistics are under strain, we’re able to maintain delivery reliability while competitors struggle.”

Guardian also comes with an expanded service package, including tailored lifecycle agreements designed to reduce operational risk and improve cost transparency.

The product launch follows Optimarin’s acquisition of Hyde Marine’s ballast water treatment technology, significantly expanding its product portfolio and UV technology base.
