Techcross BWMS given DNV GL approval

This approval covers ECS-Hychlor at full capacity from 300 to 8,000 tonnes, non-explosion proof and explosion proof, in line with the standards of DNV GL as well as the requirements of the International Maritime Organisation’s BWMS Code, which entered into force in October 2019.

In addition, the application for USCG type approval of ECS-Hychlor was submitted and listed on 13 January and has now entered its ‘Under Review’ stage. All tests and paperwork on the performance and environmental test of ECS-Hychlor based on Techcross’s knowledge and understanding of the existing direct electrolysis method has been completed and USCG type approval is expected in the first half of this year at the latest.

Following approval by the Norwegian government, Techcross will carry out work for type approval in other countries, including the Republic of Korea. Accordingly, Techcross has been able to selectively offer two types of electrolysis products to meet the preferences of ship owners and the characteristics of the ships.
